In its quest to revolutionize the fitness industry, CFSC doesn’t follow the playbook of every other certification. Below you will learn the step by step process you can expect to partake in once you sign up for the CFSC. From signing up to passing the final exam, we will be with you every step of the way.
The first thing you need to do is register for one of our on-site courses. We are always hosting CFSC events worldwide, you are sure to be able to find one near you. Once you find one that works for you, sign up and keep on studying! Can't find a course near you? We also offer online only course options.
The next step is to take and pass the written exam. With your registration comes access to 5+ hours of online lectures, a CFSC manual, and an eBook version of Mike Boyle’s “Advances in Functional Training.” A 50-Question multiple choice written exam has been comprised based on the above material. Ultimately, we want you to have a clear understanding of the CFSC methodologies from programming to practical components. Passing the written exam will take place before attending an on-site training.
The time has come to attend the live course. This is where you will be in a small group with one of our experienced coaches. The group size ensures you will get the most out of your experience. Throughout the day we will break down the CFSC program piece by piece and demonstrate our system of progressions and regressions for each movement pattern. Then it is your turn!
Each attendee will be tested on their ability to both demonstrate and coach basic movement patterns taught via CFSC in addition to our progression and regression systems. If you cannot demonstrate knowledge of the system, we cannot pass you. If you’ve studied the material, practiced the movement patterns, and paid attention during the on-site course, you should feel confident in your ability to pass this practical portion!
Once you have completed all the above steps, you are now eligible for CFSC Level 2! Level 2 is the same process as Level 1, but the focus of Level 2 will be predominately the athlete population. From specific warm ups to med ball exercises, plyometric progressions, and strength training and conditioning, our athlete program has helped develop top tier high school, collegiate, and professional athletes.
